Will Claridge
Livestock Agent
Will Claridge brings more than a decade of involvement in the livestock industry to APL Birch Rural, having begun his career while still at school through a school-based traineeship with Ray White Livestock New England in 2014.
Following school, Will joined Ray White Livestock full-time, developing practical experience across sheep and cattle sales, paddock procurement and auctioneering while completing further industry training.
In 2018, Will joined C.L. Squires & Co in Inverell. Working through some of the most challenging drought years experienced across the region, Will actively canvassed for new business and built a substantial client base throughout North West NSW. Those years helped shape his practical approach to agency work and his understanding of the importance of strong relationships, persistence and knowing the market.
Will joined APL Birch Rural in September 2025, bringing with him extensive livestock experience, an established network and a strong reputation as an auctioneer.
Auctioneering has been a particular highlight of Will's career. He was named NSW Young Auctioneer State Winner in 2021 before going on to win the National Young Auctioneer Competition in 2022. He was also a member of the winning NSW Combined Points Cup team in 2022.
Will's industry experience has also included qualifications as a Level 1 Cattle Assessor and Level 2 Sheep Assessor.
A hands-on agent, Will believes good results don't always come from following the conventional approach. He takes a proactive view of the market, looking closely at timing, market movements, buyer demand and the most effective method of presenting and positioning livestock for each individual client. Sometimes that means a broader marketing campaign; at other times, a targeted approach and “less is best” strategy can produce the stronger result.
His focus is on understanding what the market is doing, identifying opportunities early and giving clients practical advice that is relevant to their individual operation rather than applying the same strategy to every situation.
Will also has a strong connection with the communities in which he works. He was a member of the Bundarra Lions Club from 2018 to 2021 and has volunteered his skills as a charity auctioneer at community events throughout North West NSW since 2018.
Now with APL Birch Rural, Will combines livestock knowledge, auctioneering ability, an extensive regional network and a proactive approach to marketing to provide clients with straightforward advice and a high level of personal service.
